In his solo works—an alchemy of neoclassical, minimalism, noise, improvisation, and drone—Brent Arnold draws from a lifelong meditation on the instrument’s inherent nature, and musical traditions from every corner of the earth.


As a composer and arranger with hundreds of credits in recorded and live music, film, theater, dance, and opera, Arnold has worked with contemporaries including SQÜRL (Jim Jarmusch & Carter Logan), Randall Dunn, Zola Jesus, Eyvind Kang, Jessika Kenney, Drew McDowall, Gelsey Bell, Dave Malloy, Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe, Steve Von Till, Arun Ramamurthy, Wally Shoup, Walid Ben Selim, Jessica Pavone, Reggie Watts, Filastine, Lia Ouyang Rusli, DJ /rupture, Hassan Wargui, Ben Copperhead, and Hiro Kone.   

In 2024, his opera Ali—co-written with Walid Ben Selim and Grey Filastine—premiered at the legendary opera house La Monnaie in Brussels, Belgium. In 2021-2022, he orchestrated and conducted the performances of Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe’s score to Candyman (Universal Pictures), the critically acclaimed motion picture directed by Nia DaCosta and co-written by Jordan Peele. 

His new album, More Light, produced by Randall Dunn and featuring Gelsey Bell, Robert AA Lowe, Eyvind Kang, Josh Modney, Jessica Pavone, Alaina Ferris, and Mark Dover, will be released in 2025.
